A Search for Survivors and Answers: How Could the Condo Near Miami Have Collapsed?

Abi Aghayere, PhD, a professor in the College of Engineering, was quoted in a number of stories about the catastrophic collapse of a condo building in Florida last week, including a June 25 New York Times piece and two June 26 Miami Herald stories, one about possible and one about the it. He was also interviewed in a June 25 segment about the collapse and quoted in a June 26 Associated Press story about theories around the collapse and a June 27 story about reports of structural problems in the building from 2018 — both stories were picked up by hundreds of outlets across the country, including the Los Angeles Times, and ABC News online.
