Rashida T. West, associate director of government and public interest law at the law school, co-authored an on law school debt featured in the Philadelphia Bar Reporter.
In the article, West and her co-author, Katherine O鈥橩eefe, a post-graduate fellow at the Philadelphia City Law Department, discuss loan forgiveness programs available to law graduates who wish to pursue a career in public service.聽 West and O鈥橩eefe highlight one program, the Public Service聽Loan Forgiveness Program (PLSF),聽which will forgive a loan entirely if a public service employee makes 120 consecutive loan payments.
West and O鈥橩eefe also discuss loan assistance repayment options such as the Income Based Repayment plan (IBR).聽 IBR calculates loan payments based on a graduate鈥檚 loan debt-to-income ratio, thus making loan payments more affordable, the co-authors said.聽
